Cardinal Couples Intensives

More protected time. More structure. A clearer path forward.

Some couples need more than a weekly hour - or simply cannot make weekly therapy fit. Cardinal Couples Intensives offer assessment-led, extended relationship work without promising a one-day fix.

The Cardinal Relationship Restoration Framework™

A focused process built around your relationship - not a preset script.

Our intensives are organized through a six-stage clinical framework that helps us understand what is happening, reduce escalation, work beneath the surface pattern, strengthen connection, address repair where appropriate, and translate the work into daily life.

ASSESSSTABILIZEUNDERSTANDRECONNECTREPAIRPROTECT
Restoration does not mean pressure to stay together.

It means restoring clarity, agency, emotional responsiveness, safety, and healthier relationship functioning so that the next steps are more intentional.

When it may fit

Designed for motivated couples facing a defined relational challenge.

  • Recurring conflict that keeps circling back
  • Trust rupture, betrayal, secrecy, or relationship injury
  • Military deployment, recurrent travel, relocation, or reintegration
  • Parenting and family load that have crowded out the couple relationship
  • Work or caregiving schedules that make weekly therapy difficult
  • Couples who want a concentrated assessment and practical roadmap
Fit comes first. Extended conjoint work is not appropriate for every couple. Safety, coercive control, acute instability, substance use, treatment goals, and other clinical factors are screened before an intensive is confirmed.
Focused specialty pathways

Three common reasons couples need more concentrated support.

These pathways use the same Cardinal framework while shifting the assessment, pacing, and clinical emphasis to match the season the couple is actually in. When concerns overlap, the work can be blended.

Trust Repair & Relational Injury

When something changed what the relationship felt safe to believe.

For couples working after betrayal, secrecy, broken agreements, repeated disappointment, or another significant rupture in trust.

  • Clarify the injury and what remains unresolved
  • Differentiate accountability, reassurance, forgiveness, reconciliation, and trust
  • Build responsible transparency and repeated trustworthy behavior

Military, Deployment & Separation

Protect the relationship before, during, and after time apart.

For couples navigating deployment, recurrent travel, relocation, separation anxiety, reintegration, or the strain of military family life.

  • Map separation and reunion triggers
  • Create communication, reassurance, and boundary agreements
  • Protect couple identity while managing parenting, duty, and distance
Ask about deployment support →
Overwhelmed Parents & Family Load

When the family is functioning - but the couple is disappearing inside it.

For parents and caregivers whose relationship has become buried beneath exhaustion, scheduling, resentment, logistics, work, and the needs of everyone else.

  • Reduce conflict around invisible and unequal load
  • Rebuild friendship, teamwork, affection, and protected couple time
  • Create realistic rituals that can survive an already-full life
Ask about the parent pathway →
You do not have to choose the pathway yourself. The consultation and assessment process help determine whether a focused pathway, a blended intensive, an extended assessment, traditional couples therapy, or another level of care makes the most sense.

Some seasons require more than quick tips. Our therapy, intensives, workshops, and educational pathways are designed to help people move from confusion toward clarity and repair.

Love Without Self-Betrayal
